The Neuter Project
The Neuter Project is an RCVS-registered and insured veterinary practice kitted out to offer free neutering to small independent rescues wherever we can.
We operate in a wonderful location on The Retreat Animal Rescue’s site near Ashford, Kent.
Are you a vet or a veterinary nurse?
… then we need your help!
If you could offer just one or two days a year (yes, a year!), we would have monthly cover for our Neuter Project clinic.
Please message Angie Hamp on Facebook or join our Facebook group for more information.
I aim to set up ‘events’ when neutering is needed that you can opt into. If you have any set days where you are free then we can work around you.
Why Neutering?
There are so many dogs, cats and small animals in rescues up and down the UK that it is rare to find one that isn’t operating at full capacity already.
When animals aren’t neutered (or “spayed”), it is common for them to fall pregnant, having a litter of half-a-dozen or more babies that need to either find homes or places in rescues.
Neutering is a quick, harmless, and safe procedure that helps to ease the burden on animal rescues nationally and ensure that we can care for all the deserving animals who already exist.
Are you involved in Animal Rescues or Fostering?
Get in touch if you have a trapping job coming up or have a cat (or 10!) who needs neutering. Dogs are also welcome.
All cats are recovered in either the hospital or in Queen cages.
Dogs will be in collapsible pens. We require you to be registered with a vet in case of any issues post-neutering, so please provide proof of this.
Animals are vet-checked before any procedure (except ferals)!
They will be given pain relief, and dogs will be required to wear an Elizabethan collar or similar to prevent issues.
